A quote worth your time

I am reading Architecture for Dummies. This is a line from the book:

"For centuries, scholars believed that the legend of ancient Troy was just another tall tale made up by the blind Greek poet Homer."

It's funny the way Helen Keller is funny.

  1. I don't understand why it is funny. Am I broken? I read it a few days ago and didn't get it but said, Just you wait, Elaina. You will come back in three days and see that upon first reading you missed a word or something because of being very tired.

And I still do not understand. I understand why blind people are funny (obviously), but wasn't the legend of ancient Troy mostly just another tall tale made up by the blind Greek poet Homer?

  2. I'm afraid I can't explain the magic of the quote. You must feel it.
